Jaiden’s Story
Jaiden is 12 years old and is legally blind with sensory processing disorder. She receives therapy at Family and Physical Therapy and Sports Center in Norfolk, Nebraska which is a host site for UCP of Nebraska’s Tech Tools, Developmental Technology Program.
Jaiden utilizes technology from our Tech Tools Lending Library called Therapeutic Listening, a therapy which uses music called Vital Sounds to help with regulation, attention to task, coordination, sound sensitivity, communication, sensory integration, and oral motor skills.
Typically, patients will use Therapeutic Listening twice a day for thirty minutes per session. When combined with other therapy treatment approaches, Vital Sounds technology can have a significant impact on the patient’s functional abilities and progress toward treatment goals. We are proud to be able to provide our libraries this opportunity through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska’s Health of Nebraska Sponsorship and CHAD.
